HighGo Software Canada (a subsidiary of HighGo Software Inc) is ready to release an update for HighGo Postgres Sever (HGPGSQL). HGPSQL 1.1 GA was released in December 2019 which included all the features and bug fixes from community PostgreSQL 12.1 release. The PostgreSQL community has released an update for PG12 (12.2), HGPGSQL 1.2 will contain all the changes included in community 12.2 release with an addition of updates to its backup performance feature. This update is to notify you about the new software release of HG-PSQL 1.2 which is based on PostgreSQL 12.2 release. HG-PGSQL 1 is built on top of open source community release of PostgreSQL 12 which is packed with many exciting new features and improvements. Partitioning functionality has been improved by introducing fast partition pruning along with additional partitioning improvements. There have been several general performance improvements as well, such as optimisations for b-tree and other indexes as well as automatic inlining of common table expression (CTE). In addition to changes from PostgreSQL 12.2 update, HG-PGSQL 1.2 contains an update for the parallel backup performance feature. The first version of parallel backup feature was included in HG-PGSQL 1.1 release, 1.2 comes with updates to parallel backup feature to make it more robust, stable and performant.
